  •     I'm not sure who checks this site anymore it seems like everyone has a facebook now but if you haven't heard the Pomeroy's are coming for a visit and we are looking forward to seeing everyone!! If you have any free time and want to hang out let us know. We will be in Indy from the 13th of July til the beginning of August then Lord willing we will go out to Seattle to visit our family then we will return to Indy until then fly out on the 21st of August.

This past week all our kids had the stomach flu and praise the Lord they are back to normal now (a week later). Joelle had it the worst cause she ended up vomiting for over 24 hours and we had to take her a children's hospital. They ended up putting her on IVs cause she couldn't hold anything down and was becoming dehydrated. Nastya and I spent 2 nights with Joelle in the hospital and it was a far better experience then our last hospital experience! Joelle was so brave and understanding when it came to taking the medicine they wanted her to take. We are so thankful she started to recover the next day.

Caedmon is 7 mo. now and moves around on his tummy, loves to roll onto his tummy, and loves to have his tummy filled with his formula. He has been trying new foods but closes his lips really tight when he is done or doesn't want the spoon near his mouth. Its one of the funniest things to watch him do!

I'll try to post pictures later cause it seems like all the pictures I want to upload are to big.

  • Happy New Year!!

The Pomeroy's want to wish all of you a Happy New Year!!!

My Mom has been here in Kharkiv for the past 2 weeks(this was her first time in Ukraine) and tonight she and Stephen had to hop on a bus over night to take her to the airport in Kiev. They will arrive around 4 am and my Mom's flight doesnt leave til noon, but since this was the best way to get there they had to leave at 10 pm, needless to say I am spending New Year's Eve alone with my sleeping babies. I think this is only the 2nd New Years Eve we haven't spent together since we've know each other (around 9 years), but my wonderful friend Katie (who lives 2 floors up from us) said she and her family would come celebrate with me if I'm still awake. I love my husband so much and he is wonderful to take my Mom to the airport on New Years Eve. Well here are some photos from the holidays!

  • Dr. Visit

Well on Monday I went in for a check up and Praise the Lord things are healing up and I will  have to go back for another check up in a month. Caedmon and I are bonding really well and he is so cute and quiet! He looks a lot like his Papa! I'm moving around slowly and trying to rest but it's not that easy. Katie has been such a big help to me and Lord willing my Mom will be coming out in a few weeks which will be so exciting for us because we haven't seen her in over 2 years. The kids keep talking about her but they were only 1 yr. and 1 mo. old when we last visited.. Thanks again for all your prayers the Lord has been with us through all of this and will continue to carry us! We are so blessed by all of your prayers!

    Love,

    Vanessa, Stephen and the kids

  • Home for the weekend

    Dear everyone,

Thank you all for your prayers these past few weeks. If you haven't heard toward the last few weeks of my pregnancy I got the flu which turned into pnemonia and ended up going into labor at home on Monday the 12th. Our friend who is living with us, Nastya, and I delivered Caedmon in our toilet room. He came very fast and ended up coming out in breech position (feet first) with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck twice. We called the ambulance and our doctor friend and Papa Stephen who was at work and basically my water broke and within 10-15 min. I felt like I had to go to the bathroom but no I really was ready to push because Caedmon's feet came out. Everything happend so fast and Caedmon wasn't crying and was having a hard time breathing but Papa arrived and started to clean out his nose and mouth, then the doctor arrived and cut the cord and delivered the placenta. After about 40 min the ambulance arrived adn because I was sick with pnemonia they took Caedmon to a children's hospital and took me to a hospital for sick pregnant woman. Needless to say this hospital was a nightmare but by God's grace Nastya was able to share Jesus with 3 of the staff workers there, but after they did a DNC (cleaned out my uterus for any remaining placenta pieces) my body went into a major shock recation to an antibiotic they had given me. So because I was a foreigner they transfered me to an emergancy hospital where I have spent the past 11 days. At this hospital I started to recover and we thought that everything was fine but then they did a check up on me and my uterus wasn't strong enough and had been storing up blood clot chucks instead of pushing them out. So, they did another DNC on me and then another cleaning process the same day because I started to loose a lot of blood and they finally gotmy bleeding to slow down, because if they hadn't they would have wanted to remove my Uterus. So, since Monday I have had lots of blood, plasma and antibiotics pumped into me. And during this whole time Caedmon was at hospital where Stephen was allowed to come and visit him and they were treating him with antibiotics too to fight off any pnemonia that may have been passed onto him during the delivery. But on Thanksgiving Stephen was able to take Caedmon home and today they let me come home for the weekend from the hospital and I will have to go in for a final (Lord willing) check up on Monday. Please continue to pray for my strength to return and that everything will be ok on Monday. Papa Stephen has been so strong for all of us these past few weeks and he could use your prayers as well, the Lord has blessed us beyond what we could have imagined through all this. James 1:4 says "But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." and this was a comfort to me that through being patient with the doctors and being able to do nothing, yet the Lord will bring me through it and I will be perfect and complete, lacking nothing (my uterus). I'm sure I'll look back on this time and know that the Lord will use it for His glory. Thank you again for your prayers!

    With Love,

Vanessa, Stephen, Stephen J., Joelle and Caedmon
